Todd Cordell: Henrique, Larsson named to All-Star team, Kovalchuk surging, other notes

Five teams aren't represented in the All-Star game (read as: just the game, not the entire weekend). Devils, Avs, Blue Jackets, Canes, and Oilers. Looking at that, all but one of those teams is out of playoff contention.

There argument (which is dumb) is that Henrique and Larsson are there. Not to pick on anyone but Pominville is more deserving than Kovalchuk, Parise, or Elias? Not likely and thats not being a homer. Who would fans rather see? Kovy or Pominville?

It's more obvious that the picking was based on the teams that the league promotes the most (read as big market). Kane, Hossa, and Toews? Yeah, okay. Thomas, Seguin and Chara? Both Sedins, Edler, and Hodgson in the super skills. It's a (frank)ing joke and they're letting everybody know it. Really, Marian Gaborik is going to be in the game?

- This one isn't Devils related, but the NHL messed up with these rosters, big time. Teemu Selanne, Nicklas Lidstrom and Jaromir Jagr, all of whom are playing well and could be in their final NHL season, did not make the team. All three are very deserving and all three will be Hall of Famers. Good job, NHL.

sadly this is only a little mistake for the nhl, they make mistakes all the time.

as for tedenby, i still can't understand what deboers deal is, give him more minutes or send him down already!

No, you have poor interpreting skills. MacKenzie is saying that there is a possibility that veteran players asked not to be in the game and were probably replaced with other people from their team. Selanne turned into Perry.
